Young Lives, Collingwood Bay, Papua New Guinea
The young in Collingwood Bay are busy, working and having fun. Where there’s a school and a teacher they attend, but often there isn’t. They carry produce on the long walk back from the ‘gardens’, climb trees for beetle nut, hunt boar, prepare dinner, fish, play football, work out on the beach.. I ask ‘Don’t they head to the cities in search of some action?’ ‘Some go for further education, the others soon return realizing they have a great life here, and it’s free!’
