Sacred Natural Sites of Central Italy

In May 2012 I accompanied Fabrizio Frascaroli, an ecologist from Zurich University, on his travels through the sacred natural sites – forests, caves & monasteries – of Central Italy.

The project explored & documented the relationship between the sacred sites & the conservation of their local environment.  Many of the sites are associated with pre-Christian worship while others are more contemporary.  The book that ensued ”Sacred Natural Sites of Central Italy’, was sponsored by ARC (Alliance of Religions & Conservation).
