Facial Tattoos – The Painted Ladies of Collingwood Bay, Papua New Guinea

Most of the older ladies from the Maisin tribe in Collingwood Bay have magnificent facial tattoos,  but not the young – it’s a dying art and this troubles them  for they are proud.  It’s a tradition they have maintained for centuries, the geometric designs resembling those they paint on their Bark Cloth, the ink they use is made in a similar way.
