The Castle in Taunton  is a great venue for a wedding whatever the time of year.  Not only does it have a beautiful interior, charming staircase & garden but it’s also close to the river & the historic courtyard of the Museum of Somerset which all provide perfect locations for wedding photography throughout the seasons.

Reportage wedding photography is an unobtrusive way of photographing a wedding, often also called natural or relaxed or fly-on-the-wall photography.  It means the bride & groom & the guests are not aware of the photographer for most of the day because they’re being photographed without them knowing.  Apart from the group shots & one or two other more ‘formal moments in the day, there will be no posing or contrived situations for the camera.

In my opinion it makes for the best photographs & leaves the day to unravel naturally without interrupting it.

Flowers in wedding hair add such a feminine & delicate touch as well as adding colour & bringing the season into the occasion.

It’s surprising how much attention the back of your wedding dress receives!

You might not see it but everyone else will – when you walk down the aisle, throughout the ceremony, as you mingle & move through the crowd, when you’re having a romantic stroll for your couple shots & of course on the dance floor.

So when you’re choosing your wedding dress take as much time looking at the back as the front & make sure you love it from all angles!

Loved this wedding in Kilmington near Axminster in East Devon.

Cranberries Hideaway is the perfect rural wedding venue with an outdoor ceremony setting overlooking the rolling hills & Jurassic Coast, the perfect backdrop for wedding photography.

The bride looked great in a stunning low-backed wedding dress, the weather was mad which always adds drama & lots of fun was had by all!

The Castle Hotel in Taunton is a great Somerset wedding venue.

It’s licensed for ceremonies but is also the perfect choice for a reception if you’ve had your ceremony in the registry office just around the corner.

The beautiful facade looks charming all through the year but is truly magnificent when the wisteria’s in bloom.

It’s classic interior with wonderful staircase, rooftop penthouse, pillared entrance & lovely windows makes it great for wedding photography

The leafy river walk is minutes away & the historic courtyard &  buildings of The Museum of Somerset are just next door, both make stunning backdrops for photographs of the bride & groom.

All in all the Castle at Taunton is definitely worth checking out if you’re planning a Somerset wedding.
