Another hugely stimulating event with ARC (Alliance of Religions and Conservation) & the UN in Bristol last week.
‘Faith in the Future’ brought together 120 delegates (faith leaders from around the globe, members of the UN, the World Bank, the French & German governments, WWF & other NGO’s plus representatives from the local secondary school) to discuss the implementation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in preparation for their launch in New York at the end of this month.
The 3 day event opened with a colourful procession & ceremony in the ancient Lord Mayors Chapel. Besides presentations & discussions there was a ‘play time’ & dinner at the science complex @Bristol hosted by the Mayor & a wonderful dance performance by Flamingo Chicks, a troop of mentally & physically disabled children from Bristol.
The combination of cultures & backgrounds, enthusiasm & expertise created very inspiring & challenging debate which was a priviledge to witness.
